Job description

Job Title: Route Sales Support Driver

The Route Sales Support Driver builds solid, positive working relationships with customers and is highly motivated to exceed their expectations and requirements. AUS operates in a very competitive environment, and successful RSSs must be able to balance exceptional customer service with meeting and exceeding individual sales growth goals. As advocates for the organization, RSSs strive to generate goodwill and loyalty while performing their work professionally at all times.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
  1. Safely operate a company step van in the designated area to provide products and services to clients.
  2. Verify daily vehicle preventative maintenance and maintain proper operator documentation.
  3. Manage daily route independently to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
  4. Load and unload products according to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  5. Review invoices daily for accuracy and completeness, making corrections as needed.
  6. Meet sales goals and promote route growth to enhance profitability.
  7. Develop leads and prospects, call on prospective customers to solicit business, prepare service agreements, and install new accounts.
  8. Assist the sales team in acquiring new business.
  9. Possess a strong understanding of services, policies, and pricing, and communicate these effectively to customers.
  10. Monitor customer feedback and address issues promptly and courteously.
  11. Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others by following safe work practices and using proper tools and equipment.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record.
  • Experience in customer service with diverse customer interactions.
  • Strong math skills and basic computer proficiency.
  • Experience in selling services/products and generating new business is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and quickly resolve customer concerns.
Working Environment / Safety Requirements :

Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures depending on location. Fast-paced environment with irregular and long hours at times.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift and maneuver at least 25 lbs routinely, load/unload products from the truck, and occasionally lift over 50 lbs. The role involves bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
