Job Description

The Route Sales Relief Driver - Jumper at SBE builds business partnerships with customers and is dedicated to meeting their expectations and requirements. This role involves engaging in ongoing conversations with key decision-makers to gather customer information, which is used to improve product offerings and services. The driver focuses on sales opportunities, account retention, and fostering strong customer relationships.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Meet sales expectations and promote overall route growth, service agreement renewal, and customer retention to enhance market profitability.
  2. Identify opportunities to solicit new business and increase revenue by selling new items to existing customers and acquiring new accounts.
  3. Establish and maintain effective, respectful relationships with customers while providing outstanding customer service with an account ownership mentality.
  4. Prioritize account retention and proactively address customer issues and opportunities to improve accounts.
  5. Ensure safe loading and unloading of products, proper delivery of merchandise, stock management, product rotation, and maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
  6. Operate company vehicles safely and courteously, adhering to all traffic laws.
  7. Verify daily vehicle maintenance, keep the truck interior organized and clean, and comply with all DOT requirements.
  8. Handle assets responsibly and respectfully, including customer and company assets.
  9. Maintain appropriate inventory levels at customer locations, ensuring product quality and operational condition.
  10. Accurately account for all monies and products daily, following established guidelines.
  11. Practice attentive listening and communicate effectively, even under adverse conditions, through proper communication channels.
  12. Coordinate with the GM, RSM, CSM, and CSA regarding customer issues, pending problems, or competitor activity at customer locations.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a role involving significant public contact.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain DOT certification to operate DOT-regulated vehicles.
  • Clean driving record for the past 5 years.
  • Effective communication skills with clients and operations staff.
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing demands.
  • Proficiency or training in selling products to customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
