T.G. Lee Dairy is seeking a dependable CDLB Route Relief Driver to provide relief/backup support when drivers are on vacation or off. You will operate a straight or pup truck to deliver products on a scheduled route with a focus on safety and customer service.

Requirements include High School Diploma or equivalent, valid Class B/Class B with Air Brake CDL, DFA and DOT compliance, and strong English communication skills. Shifts run Monday to Friday starting at 3:00 am, with long 12–13 hour days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must meet DFA and DOT requirements for driving records and DOT procedures.
• Class B CDL with Air Brake endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules and policies.
• Deliver pre-ordered or unscheduled products to customers according to route schedule and expectations.
• Follow routes and schedules; report delays due to conditions or incidents.
• Load/unload products; may stock, rotate, or order products.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic maintenance checks.
• Complete daily paperwork including DOT and customer documents.

T.G. Lee Dairyhasimmediate job openings for dependable CDLB Route Relief Driver to provide relief/backup support for company when drivers are on vacation or other time off. May provide on-call relief, cover partial trips or fill in due to staffing needs. Demonstrate knowledge of multiple delivery routes and possess necessary qualifications and experience to drive class B vehicles per the relief driving assignment. Keep up-to-date knowledge of routes, which may include going on route ride(s) to keep active knowledge. Operate a straight truck or pup truck to deliver products in a safe and timely manner to customers according to the delivery route schedule as determined by the supervisor. Demonstrate high standards of customer service. Communicate frequently with peers, supervisors, and others.

Job Duties:

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices
• Deliver pre-ordered or unscheduled (special orders) products to customers (schools, grocery stores, nursing homes, etc.) according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations (e.g., put deliveries inside coolers and walk-ins) in a safe and timely manner
• Follow designated routes and schedules unless otherwise directed by supervisory personnel. Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents or breakdowns
• Based on route design, load and unload product as required at designated stops (manually with hook, 2-wheel cart and/or pallet jack); may include stocking, rotating, and/or ordering of product (varies from route to route)
• Collect empty cases
• Provide merchandising support based on customer requirements and promote the addition and sales of new products if appropriate
• Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers, resolve customer complaints, and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager
• Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used (tires, fuel, oil check, etc.) and maintain a clean vehicle
• Ensure load is properly secured prior to travel and at each stop and make adjustments when needed
• Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day. Complete DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets, pre and post trip inspections, driver logs, trip records, and vehicle service reports
• Submit all customer paperwork and deposits daily, including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports
• Ensure sufficient route inventory levels to meet customer demands while adhering to account inventory control and company distribution procedures; document condition of freight before departure
• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions
• Use company supported applications or systems properly
• Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals

SCHEDULE:

• Monday to Friday: 3:00 am until finish. Approximately 12–13-hour shifts.

OUR CDL DRIVERS FOR THIS POSITION CAN MAKE UP TO:

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Up to 2 years of experience driving a straight truck or pup truck, within the last 5 years preferred
• Must meet minimum age requirements
• Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records
• Must meet all DOT requirements
• Certification and/or License – valid Class B/Class B with Air Brake CDL
• Knowledge of DOT procedures, rules, and requirements
• Skill in proficient computer usage
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Skills with math for calculating load size and recording accurate volume/weight measurements
