Job summary

Canteen North America is seeking a full-time Route Driver – Utility in Salem, OR. The role involves delivering items to customers and servicing routes on a Tuesday–Saturday schedule from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. A valid driver’s license is required, and prior experience is preferred.

The position pays $21.00–$22.00 per hour with potential commission eligibility. Location is Canteen at 2688 19th Street Southeast, Salem, OR 97303; online applications are accepted only.

Responsibilities

• Service a route or location during the absence of the regular route or warehouse employee.
• Assist Customer Service Managers with daily opening and closing of the operation, and training of new route service personnel.
• Drive truck to deliver items such as beverages, bakery products, snack items and sundries to customers’ places of business.
• Place stock on shelves or racks; collect stale, rejected or unsold merchandise; collect money from machines and refill changers.
• Record transactions; be accountable for cash and product.
• Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service and inform them of new products; address complaints.

Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for a full‑time ROUTE DRIVER – UTILITY position.

• Location: Canteen – 2688 19th Street Southeast, Salem, OR 97303. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full‑time schedule. Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.
• Requirement: Previous experience preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Pay Range: $21.00–$22.00 per hour.

• All Canteen driving roles may include commission eligibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Service a particular route or location during the absence of the regular route or warehouse employee.
• Assist Customer Service Managers with daily opening and closing of the operation, and training of new route service personnel.
• Drive truck to deliver items such as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items and sundries to customers’ places of business.
• Place stock on shelves or racks in vending machines; collect stale, rejected or unsold merchandise; collect money from machines and refill bill and coin changers.
• Record transactions on appropriate card and/or electronic device; be accountable for cash and product.
• Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; inform regular customers of new products and/or services; listen to and resolve service complaints.
• Select items from warehouse and load truck; prepare order forms for food and pastry products.
• Perform routine maintenance on and sanitation of machines.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; perform job safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license, ensuring safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws and conditions.
