Position Overview

Full‑time Route Driver – Utility. The role involves driving a company‑owned truck delivering products and services along an established route.

Location

Canteen – 3008 Orville Wright Way, Wilmington, NC 28405. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule

Monday through Friday; start and end times vary.

Responsibilities

• Service a particular route or location during the absence of the regular route or warehouse employee.
• Assist Customer Service Managers with daily opening and closing of the operation, and training of new route service personnel.
• Deliver items such as soft drinks, bakery products, specialty foods, snack items and sundries to customers’ places of business.
• Place stock on shelves or racks in vending machines; collect stale, rejected or unsold merchandise.
• Collect money from machines and refill bill and coin changers.
• Record transactions on appropriate card and/or electronic device; be accountable for cash and product.
• Call on existing customers to determine adequacy of service; inform regular customers of new products and/or services; listen to and resolve service complaints.
• Select items from warehouse and load truck; prepare order forms for food and pastry products.
• Perform routine maintenance on and sanitation of machines.
• Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment and perform job safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license; safe operation of company vehicles in accordance with traffic laws.
• Previous route driving experience preferred.
• Willingness to receive training.
