Job summary

Unitex in Hartford, CT is seeking a Route/Driver Supervisor to lead a small team of drivers across the Greater Connecticut territory. The role requires starting as early as 3:00 AM and a Monday–Friday schedule, with hands-on supervision of routes and daily operations.

You will establish and maintain customer contact, introduce new services, and manage credit/terms discussions while working to improve route performance and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 25 years old or older.
• Must have been a driver for a company (driving a 26 ft box truck).
• Clean driver’s license - pass MVR background check.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a service environment preferred.
• Driving experience in a service environment needed.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Strong management and communications skills.
• Must be able to supervise drivers.
• Efficient time management skills.
• Must be able to resolve issues in the appropriate time frame.
• Must be organized with excellent follow-up skills.
• Very strong interpersonal and telephone skills.
• Good with numbers.
• Job is physical in nature – must be able to lift heavy objects up/down stairs and load heavy items into trucks.

Responsibilities

• Participate in route settlement with the goal of improving issue resolution, COD pickups, and paperwork integrity
• Schedule new account installations, including day stop sequence, first deliveries and other matters with the customer
• Other service related duties as appropriate

Unitex is experiencing unprecedented growth! Due to this growth, we are in search of a highly skilled Route / Driver Supervisor for our facility in Hartford, CT.

Territory

Greater Connecticut

Schedule

Monday - Friday

Must be able to start as early as 3:00 AM

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $65,000 per year. Actual compensation decisions are based on factors such as experience, seniority, location, and other permissible job-related factors.

In this position you will be out on the road with drivers and also covering routes when needed.

Route / Driver Supervisor is responsible for:

• Establish and maintain customer contact on a regular basis
• Introduce new products/services to customers
• Address issues regarding credit requests, credit and payment terms, contract status, service delivery frequency and service days with customers
• Participate in route settlement with the goal of improving issue resolution, COD pickups, and paperwork integrity
• Schedule new account installations, including day stop sequence, first deliveries and other matters with the customer
• Other service related duties as appropriate

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervises 3-5 route drivers. This includes hiring, training, developing and disciplining
• Fills in for drivers as required
• Regularly goes out with drivers to monitor driver’s customer service skills and job safety skills

Job Requirements:

• MUST BE 25 years old or older
