Position Purpose:

The Medical Waste Route Driver is responsible for servicing assigned accounts professionally, ensuring customer needs are met continually for waste pickup and supply delivery. This role provides the highest level of customer service and may transport waste to transfer or processing locations. Compliance with all immunization requirements, including full COVID-19 vaccination, is mandatory. All company vehicles are equipped with cameras, ELDs, and GPS for safety and monitoring purposes.

The work schedule is Monday - Friday with rotating Saturdays, starting at 5:30 A.M. The starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with overtime after 40 hours.

Key Job Activities:
  1. Manage routes to ensure timely, safe, and accurate waste pickup.
  2. Transport waste safely, adhering to all regulations.
  3. Plan daily routes based on customer needs, reviewing route sheets and manifests.
  4. Follow routing software schedules.
  5. Prepare and load trucks with supplies for the day.
  6. Unload trucks at designated sites, securing waste properly.
  7. Collect waste from scheduled customer sites, ensuring proper packaging.
  8. Provide excellent customer service, addressing issues promptly.
  9. Secure waste, supplies, and equipment before operating the vehicle.
  10. Complete and submit all required paperwork accurately.
  11. Maintain DOT driver logs if applicable.
  12. Communicate route changes or issues to supervisors.
  13. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance.
  14. Use ELD and Geotab to log hours per DOT guidelines.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:

Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience (North America & LATAM):
  • At least 6 months of driving experience, preferably with shred/box trucks and route management.
  • Must be 21 or older for route management roles.
  • Valid driver's license (Class D or above) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Proficiency in English sufficient to understand traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete reports.
