Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Minnesota is seeking a Driver, Helper Non Formula to support our food distribution network. You will ride with and assist the Driver on intrastate and interstate routes, delivering products on time and in good condition.

You are the face of our company, communicating with customers professionally, performing documentation, and ensuring safety and DOT compliance. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift 10–90 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year or more experience interfacing with customers preferred.
• Able to stand, walk, lift and carry repeatedly throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Driver in safe, timely delivery of products to customers.
• Load and unload products from trucks and company vehicles.
• Place products as directed by customers and documentation completed promptly.
• Perform related duties as assigned to support the delivery process.

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Driver, Helper Non Formula, you will assist the Driver in every aspect of the product delivery to our customers.

The Driver, Helper Non Formula rides with and assist Drivers in the tractor trailer, tandem trailer and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading various products in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Compensation: $22.50/hour

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Assists the Driver in the safe and accurate delivery of products to customers in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads and unloading truck and/or company vehicles.
• Places products in areas identified by customers.
• Completes required documentation in a timely manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 6 - 12 months experience in warehouse environment and interfacing with customers
• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
• Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves/pallets, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location, throughout shift.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e. cooler, freezer and dry.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.
