Performance Foodservice is seeking a Driver Helper to join our delivery team. As the face of our company, you will support Drivers on intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring on-time, safe delivery and proper unloading of products.
You will interact professionally with customers and co-workers, complete required paperwork, and uphold DOT regulations. A high school diploma or GED and warehouse exposure are expected, with post-offer drug and background checks.
Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Driver Helper, you will assist the Driver in every aspect of the product delivery to our customers.
The Driver Helper rides with and assist Drivers in the tractor trailer, tandem trailer and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes for the purpose of delivering and/or unloading various products in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
