Position Overview
CDL Driver working nights, 40 hours per week, hauling inner store transfer trailers to other STTC locations. The Route Driver must be committed to delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service to our customers and stores. MUST HAVE 4 YEARS CLEAN DRIVING RECORD AND CDL EXPERIENCE.
Essential Job Functions
- Drive a box truck or tractor trailer to deliver tires and/or wheels to a customer’s place of business or another STTC location.
- Load and unload tires and wheels.
- Ensure accuracy on delivery invoices.
- Issue or obtain customer signature on invoice/receipt for pickup or delivery.
- Correctly fill out and attach tags or labels to tires. Ensure all retread tires have a tag or label on them before loading.
- Maintain cleanliness of inside and outside of truck.
- Complete daily mileage and pickup reports and turn them in each day.
- Perform daily routine maintenance on truck to ensure the vehicle is safe.
- Perform all tasks in a safe and efficient manner, using all provided safety equipment (seat belts), and communicate equipment needs. Report mechanical problems and unsafe actions or situations to the Branch Manager.
- Ensure all products leave with proper paperwork. Report any safety or policy violations.
- Perform miscellaneous job duties as needed to ensure prompt service to customers.
- Ensure VMR, driver’s log, and pre/post trip truck inspections are completed and submitted weekly.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
- BILINGUAL IN SPANISH.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with customers and staff.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Basic computer skills; training provided.
- Valid Driver’s License and CDL with Class A or B.
- Must have a clean driving record and forklift certification (training provided).
- Ability to operate lift gates, trucks, forklifts, and office equipment.
- Uniforms provided; must remain clean and professional in appearance.
