Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Bus Driver to transport students to and from school and activities. Under the supervision of the Facilities & Transportation Specialist you will operate a district-owned bus and conduct safety checks.

You will perform pre/post trip inspections, supervise students on routes, and assist with occasional extracurricular trips while maintaining clear communication with parents and school staff. A valid MN CDL Type B is required (or equivalent).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid MN CDL Type B license.
• English reading/writing fluency required.
• Ability to communicate with principals, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Transport students on designated AM and PM routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Supervise students during transport.

Bus Driver

Position Function:

Under the direct supervision of the Facilities & Transportation Specialist, transport students to and from school and school activities on a district owned school bus.

Essential Functions:

• Perform pre and post trip inspections.
• Drive designated AM and PM routes on school days.
• Supervise students while transporting them each day.
• Monitor and fuel up the school bus as needed.
• Clean the bus each day or as needed.

Additional Duties:

• Communicate as needed with parents and the Facilities & Transportation Specialist.
• Assist with driving some extracurricular trips.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Equipment

• Must be licensed and trained to drive a public school bus.
• Communicate clearly via two-way digital radio.

Safety Requirements

• Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations pertaining to transporting students on a school bus.
• Wears appropriate safety gear.
• Implement routine safety inspections and bus evacuation drills.
• Participate in and pass required drug tests.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Possession of a current MN Commercial Drivers License (Type B)
• Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with principal and others.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to describe orally or in writing cleaning, maintenance or repair problems as needed.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure.
• Ability to drive in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
• Ability to perform work according to standard procedures and schedule set forth by supervisor(s).

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards

• Ability to drive in difficultweather conditions.
• Ability to supervise students.
• Ability to get on and off of a school bus frequently and facilate bus evacuation drills.

Qualifications Profile:

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Current MN Commercial Drivers License (Type B)
