Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher to communicate with drivers, enter ticket information in GFL software, and resolve service issues on route. You will coordinate with customers, drivers, and operations staff to ensure timely service and accurate end-of-day documentation.

The role requires 1–2 years in transport or dispatch, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word. Some weekends and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school; post-secondary education is a plus.
• 1-2 years in a transportation, dispatch or customer service role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Advanced computer skills and ability to type accurately.
• Willing to work extended hours including occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Schedule service and satisfy customer needs for changes.
• Dispatch calls to routes based on route and driver location.
• Perform driver check-ins and ensure paperwork accuracy.
• Review route sheets for end-of-day data entry.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve service issues.
• Interacts with customers, sales, and operations staff.
• Work with routing specialists to optimize routes.
• Field incoming customer calls/emails and troubleshoot issues.
