Job summary

Culligan is seeking a Route Delivery Driver to ensure timely and accurate delivery of drinking water and related products on a preset route. You will consult with customers to determine needs, handle products safely, and maintain accurate route documentation.

The role is field-based, with a Monday–Friday schedule, and requires strong driving skills, DOT compliance, and physical stamina for loading and unloading. Company benefits apply after introductory period.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer service skills.
• Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to successfully pass a DOT Physical & DOT Drug Screen.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check per Company requirements.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older and be able to pass driving record check to be insurable by the Company.
• Must be able to safely operate/drive company vehicles up to 26,001 lbs. daily for ~8–10 hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 90lbs on a repetitive basis.
• Must remain physically capable, with or without accommodation, of performing duties required.

Responsibilities

• Route planning and execution: prepare the delivery vehicle, complete all deliveries on route, optimize routes considering roadblocks.
• Customer service: interact with customers professionally and address questions during deliveries.
• Product knowledge: understand bottled water, PE tanks, salt and related products; provide information as needed.
• Documentation: complete customer agreements and route sheets; collect payments and submit daily activity sheets.
• Safety: operate vehicles safely and perform DVIRs, report issues to management.

As a

Route Delivery Driver

you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of Culligan drinking water and associated products to customers on a predetermined route. This role will be customer-facing and requires the Driver to consult with customers to determine the products and/or amount of products necessary to meet their need. The ideal candidate for this role will understand effective route planning, have excellent driving skills, and will be committed to delivering exceptional Culligan service.

What you’ll do:

Route planning and execution:

• Prepare the delivery vehicle each day before leaving the warehouse to ensure it is loaded correctly; familiarize yourself with the route layout and customers’ requests to complete the scheduled route.
• Complete all deliveries on route as scheduled.
• Ensure route optimization by identifying challenges or roadblocks ahead of time to complete the route in the most efficient manner.

Customer service:

• Interact with customers while representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
• Address customer questions or concerns during deliveries.

Product knowledge:

• Develop a strong understanding of the products being delivered and the proper product handling associated with bottled water, PE tanks, salt, and additional products as applicable.
• Provide information about products to customers when necessary.

Documentation:

• Complete customer agreements and route sheets accurately and legibly.
• Perform payment collection from customers; promptly turn in customer payments and daily activity sheets to the office staff at the end of each workday.
• Adhere to the proper utilization of handheld palm units, while entering accurate information concerning the customer and abiding by all rules concerning its use.

Safety:

• Operate delivery vehicles safely; adhere to traffic rules and DOT regulations.
• Perform Daily Vehicle Inspections (DVIR’s) and report any issues to management.

Where you’ll work:

Culligan Drivers spend much of their time out in the field delivering to both commercial and residential customers – this means you’ll spend extensive time driving and getting in and out of the route truck. Our drivers deliver in rain or shine and must be comfortable being exposed to various weather conditions. This role is labor intensive and requires strong physical stamina.
