Job summary

Empire Distributors, a leading beverage distributor, seeks a Route Delivery Driver in Memphis, TN. Deliver products to customers on scheduled routes, collect payments when applicable, and ensure accurate paperwork and invoicing.

You will perform safety checks, maintain the vehicle, and use company devices to log hours in compliance with DOT regulations. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid F-endorsement DL, a current DOT medical card, and basic computer/smartphone skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent training/experience.
• TN ABC Wholesaler's Employee Permit is required.
• Valid Driver License with F Endorsement is required.
• Current DOT Medical Card is required.
• Basic computer knowledge and smartphone usage for route/log records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products to customers on scheduled routes and ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Operate vehicle safely per State and Federal regulations; perform pre/post-trip inspections.
• Check loads, secure with load-locks, and maintain vehicle cleanliness at shift end.
• Record start/stop times via company devices and ensure DOT hours compliance.
• Take payments when applicable and collect invoices signed by customers.
• Communicate shortages/overages and resolve issues with customers when possible.
• Represent the company with a neat appearance and positive attitude.

Empire Distributors, a Leading Beverage Distributor is now hiring a Route Delivery Driver. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• This person will deliver products to our customers according to developed scheduled and routes. This person will also distribute products at customer locations and ensures paperwork is complete and accurate. Collect funds if applicable from the customer and verify that product and inventories match, and addresses customer issues and concerns.
• Operates vehicle in accordance with all State and Federal regulations in a safe manner with respect to weather and road conditions.
• Ensures that pre/post-trip inspection sheets are completed on each vehicle used. Notifies the Transportation Manager of discrepancies.
• Checks load conditions and maintains load using approved load-locks and tools in order to reduce product breakage and vehicle damage.
• Maintains security of load ensuring bay of truck is locked at all times Delivery Driver Associate is away from vehicle.
• Ensures the assigned vehicle is clean at the end of each shift.
• Handles, delivers, and works with all products that may be ordered by our customers.
• Delivers products according to invoices and customer requirements, ensuring that deliveries are made timely.
• Uses electronic devices provided by the Company to accurately and consistently record start and stop times, assuring hours of service are recorded and remain in compliance with DOT Regulations.
• Provides input on routes, including time windows, stop order sequence, etc., through proper channels.
• Ensures that all invoices delivered are signed by the respective customer, paperwork is in stop-order sequence, invoices are matched, and route sheet is properly marked.
• Collects payments based on terms established by the Company and Tennessee state laws.
• Communicates shortages and overages of products and returns items to the Distribution center as necessary.
• Resolves issues, when possible, with customers, and/or communicates those issues to the Company for proper resolution.
• Ensures proper deposit procedure is followed when depositing funds collected from route.
• Completes training assignments by management in a timely manner, including but not limited to Worklete and Pro-Tread.
• Performs job essential duties and responsibilities effectively while being monitored via DriveCam.
• Immediately reports any changes to driver license status or any citations issued by law enforcements authorities to Transportation Manager.
• Represents the Company therefore ensuring that the work uniform is worn properly and maintains a neat and well-groomed appearance.
• Maintains a positive attitude and good work habits.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
