Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a rotordynamics engineer to join our turbomachinery team and advance power generation capability. You’ll analyze rotating groups for acceptable rotordynamic margins, define balance requirements, and collaborate with secondary flow and seal engineers to ensure a manufacturable, high-efficiency design.

As an early hire, you will influence system architecture decisions and work closely with cross-functional teams to push our next-generation energy technology from the ground

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of rotordynamics analyses experience.
• Experience analyzing rotating systems for lateral and torsional rotordynamic response.
• Experience defining balancing requirements for turbomachinery.
• Experience with high-speed rotating equipment in gas turbines, steam turbines, blowers, turboexpanders, turbopumps, etc.

Responsibilities

• Analyze rotating groups for acceptable rotordynamic margin.
• Collaborate with secondary flow and seal engineers to define acceptable seal clearances.
• Define balance requirements and procedures for rotating group.

The Role

Valar Atomics is seeking arotordynamicsengineer to join the turbomachinery team and advance power generation capability. In this role,you’llbe responsible foranalyzing therotating groupfor Valar’s power generation turbomachinery.You’llbe working withcross-functionalteam members to define a manufacturable,high efficiency, robust design.As an early hire in turbomachinery, you will be able to directly influence design decisions on the system architecture.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Master's degree in Mechanicalor AerospaceEngineering
• Experience diagnosing or root causing vibration/rotordynamicfailures of equipment
• Experience with industryrotordynamicstandardsAPI 617, API 684, etc.
• Experience with vibration signal processing
• Experience with commercially availablerotordynamicanalysis packages (AxStream, Concepts NREC,Dyrobes)
• Experience with supercritical C02
