Job summary

Amentum seeks an UH60 Aircraft Mechanic I at Fort Drum to troubleshoot and repair helicopter systems, structures, and components to ensure airworthiness. This role requires adherence to manuals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include performing scheduled inspections, replacing worn parts, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. Candidates must have tools, pass credentials, and be prepared for challenging environments in a military setting.

Qualifications

  • Valid up-to-date A&P license.
  • If no A&P license, three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the UH60 (MDS).
  • All experience must be within the six most recent years.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for credentials at the work location.
  • Tools are Required; must possess own shadowed/etched tools and toolbox.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, and systems.
  • Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures and components using hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Reads and interprets manuals, bulletins, data to determine repair methods.
  • Performs 100-hour and other inspections, engine checks, and engine testing.
  • Inspects engine turbine blades for cracks and wear and locates malfunctions.
  • Supervises jacking and towing and maintains maintenance records.
  • Performs other qualified duties as assigned.
