Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certified, Qualified and Highly Qualified as defined by the Course Code(s) assigned.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements instruction aligned to the district's philosophy, goals and objectives as outlined in the adopted courses of study.
• Plans and implements a program of study designed to meet individual needs of students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
• Provides progress and interim reports as required; prepares substitute folder and plans for paraprofessionals and volunteers.
• Assists in curriculum revision and selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials.
• Develops reasonable classroom behavior rules and discipline techniques; ensures protection of students and property.
• Maintains public relations and communicates positively with parents and the community.
• Pursues professional growth through workshops and advanced coursework; attends staff and committee meetings.
• Evaluates student progress using multiple assessments and makes instructional adjustments.
