Job summary

Conti Federal is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee safety programs on a federal project. This on-site role requires rotating travel with a minimum of three weeks away, returning for one weekend home, and coordinating with the project team to enforce the Safety, Health, and Environmental Plan.

Ideal candidates are US citizens with OSHA 30, BCSP CHST/ASP/CSP credentials, 5+ years of safety experience on comparable projects, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• US citizen for security clearance
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction valid in last 5 years
• First Aid/CPR certification current
• Minimum of 24 hours safety-related training in past 5 years (excludes OSHA 30)
• 5+ years safety experience on similar projects
• BCSP certifications CHST/OHST/ASP/SMP/CSP preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops safety trends from incidents and recommends improvements
• Deliver weekly safety talks with relevant content
• Maintain project safety documentation (incidents, audits, trainings, records) onsite
• Ensure personnel have required safety training and equipment
• Coach and lead on Activity Hazard Analysis and daily safety checks
• Enforce Site Safety and Health Plans on site
• Identify hazards and develop safe work plans with management
• Lead safety investigations and corrective actions
• Collaborate with employees and site supervision to minimize injuries
