Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO offers an 18-month Professional Development Program with department rotations through Production, Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, Safety, Programs and more. Participants complete assignments in each area and projects, culminating in a permanent placement within the company.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering or maritime field.
• Basic understanding of maritime operations.
• Familiar with world-class manufacturing techniques.
• Ability to plan work, manage time, and lead others.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding and/or repair processes.
• Develop managerial and leadership skills.
• Complete rotation projects/assignments in a timely and organized fashion.
• Support safety, quality, cost and schedule performance.
• Be an active participant in NASSCO's continuous improvement culture.
• Complete internal and external training requirements
• Complete performance evaluations at end of each rotation.
• Other duties as assigned.
