Job summary

Metalcraft Of Mayville, Inc. seeks a Machine Operator on the 2nd shift to produce rotational molded parts, change molds, and maintain safety, quality and productivity. You will work 2pm–10pm, Monday to Friday, with a $2 shift differential and opportunities for advancement.

You'll operate the molding equipment, transfer resin, assist with mold changes, keep logs, and uphold 6S and safety rules in a clean air‑conditioned facility. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication required.
• Ability to perform dimensional measurements and learn precision tools.
• Ability to perform simple math and measurements.
• High attention to detail.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate rotational molding machine to meet plant metrics for safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow procedures.
• Transfer resin into ovens and into molds.
• Work with team to assemble and dismantle molds.
• Remove molded parts and monitor temperature.
• Conduct mold changes using overhead cranes and rigging.
• Use inspection feedback to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
• Document production and quality logs.
• Adhere to 6S and safety policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, the Machine Operator p roduces rotational molded parts in accordance with process parameters, changes out molds, and maintains acceptable levels of scrap and productivity; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

2nd Shift Hours (2pm - 10pm, Monday - Friday)

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operates rotational molding machine to meet or exceed plant metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale/Inventory.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Transfer plastic resin into ovens for heating and into molds for forming.
• Work as a team to assemble and dismantle molds.
• Removes molded parts from the molds and monitors part temperature.
• Conduct mold changes using overhead cranes and rigging.
• Uses feedback from Trimmers inspecting product to drive process improvements to reduce scrap and improve productivity.
• Maintains safe and clean operations by adhering to safety procedures and company 6S requirements.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to complete dimensional measuring and quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.
• Ability to perform simple math and measurements.
• Ability to maintain a high attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to and including 50 lbs.
• Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders is required.
• Frequent use of hands and wrists on both large and small items: e.g., screws, bolts and nuts to service the molds.
• Ability to understand/apply knowledge of “G” and “M” codes and have applicable computer skills.
• Ability to focus and work at a continuous pace for extended periods of time.
• Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.
• Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
• Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task.

Education And/or Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Exposure to a Lean manufacturing environment preferred.

Equipment Operated

• Forklift, measurement devices, wrenches, screwdrivers and various other hand tools.
