Komatsu Mining Corp. invites you to join the two-year Engineering Residency in Franklin, PA. This program blends project-based learning across product engineering, manufacturing, sales, and service, with hands-on field exposure and leadership development.

Participants complete four modules, receive mentoring, field trips to mines, and a chance to present to leadership. The residency aims to build broad engineering competence and a clear career path within Komatsu.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline is required.
• 3 years’ experience in engineering design and machine application in mining is desired.
• Proficiency with CAD tools is desired.
• Experience with Lean Engineering principles is desired.
• Experience implementing Change Management is desired.
• Experience in cross-functional team assignments is highly desired.
• Certificates or demonstrated project management experience is desirable.
• Professional registration or membership in committees/technical societies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering projects to develop, maintain and support components, products and/or services.
• Conduct engineering evaluations with investigations, basic calculations and tests.
• Provide conceptual and strategic solutions for engineering projects or evaluations.
• Lead a group supporting components, products, or services and continuous improvements.
• Communicate engineering issues to ensure compliance with global design and safety standards.
• Support improvements to streamline engineering processes across design, development, and maintenance.
• Assist in Change Management to achieve desired organizational outcomes.
• Determine root causes of field problems and propose corrective actions.
• Perform basic engineering evaluations and consult with senior engineers.
