Job summary

Frank, Rimerman is seeking a Rotational Summer Intern in San Francisco to explore both Audit and Tax while supporting a Silicon Valley client base. Based in our SF office, interns gain hands-on experience, participate in department meetings, and learn standard accounting software. The program includes social events and a pathway to full-time employment.

Interns must be authorized to work in the United States; the internship offers hourly pay and aims to convert interns to full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program with accounting concentration
• Completed at least one accounting course to receive a 2028 internship offer
• Plan to complete a minimum of three accounting courses before the 2028 internship program
• GPA 3.2+ with B or higher in accounting courses
• CPA licensure eligibility between December 2028 and August 2029
• Clear, professional written and oral communication

Job description

Overview

Our dynamic Rotational Summer Internship allows students majoring in accounting to build a foundation in both Audit and Tax. You will work with professionals at all levels as they provide business solutions to our innovative Silicon Valley clients. We aim to provide an authentic internship experience so all interns can feel confident joining us full-time. We are proud to be a top ranked accounting internship by Vault!

Interns will be based out of our San Francisco office, but some mobility throughout the surrounding areas is required for training and offsite activities.

You’ll Make An Impact By

• Working on audit engagements and developing an understanding of audit processes


• Preparing income tax returns (individual, fiduciary, partnership, not-for-profit and corporate)


• Attending department meetings and client engagement planning sessions


• Assisting with business risk consulting and compliance projects


• Processing business transactions into accounting records and appropriate financial statements


• Learning standardized office and accounting-related software

Outside of department work, our internship also includes a variety of social events where you will have the chance to connect with fellow interns and co-workers in a more casual setting. Specific socials may vary based on your home office.

• On track to complete a minimum of three accounting courses prior to the 2028 internship program


• Minimum GPA of 3.2, with \"B\" grades or above in accounting courses and a higher major GPA preferred


• Final graduation date with academic requirements for CPA licensure eligibility between December 2028 and August 2029


• Demonstrates clear, professional written and oral communication

The position may require participation in offsite events and activities that involve extended periods of standing and walking for distances of up to two miles. The position may also require extended periods of sitting and the ability to transport a company-provided laptop and other work-related materials weighing up to 10 pounds. Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

The salary range for the 2028 Summer Internship in San Francisco is $45-$49 per hour.
