AbbVie in North Chicago, IL is seeking an Associate Shift Technical Engineer (rotating shifts) on a full-time basis.

You will apply engineering and scientific knowledge to support process troubleshooting, minimize downtime, and participate in continuous improvement projects across manufacturing processes. The role emphasizes compliance with EH&S and AbbVie standards, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent technical experience.
Entry level position with <2 years of experience typical.
Ability to quickly gain knowledge of AbbVie processes and methods and collaborate across disciplines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse groups.
Ability to recognize risks versus potential gains in actions.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with Quality, EH&S, and AbbVie standards and governance.
Assist with process improvement projects to increase yield, reduce cycle time, and lower costs.
Lead small projects with defined plans, monitor progress, and report status.
Provide technical support and training for operations personnel and facilities.
