Job summary

Unilever Hammond, IN facility seeks an Instrumentation/Electrical Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades. You will document work orders, coordinate with teams, and ensure safety compliance in a unionized setting.

The role requires 5-7+ years of electrical maintenance experience, strong PLC/automation knowledge, and proficiency with multimeters and schematics. A high school diploma or GED is required, with higher degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5-7+ years of verifiable electrical maintenance experience.
• Extensive controls, PLC and automation knowledge.
• Proficiency with multimeters, amp probes, meggers and electrical schematics.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Strong English reading/writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Preventative Maintenance routines with documentation.
• Repair/replace equipment and maintain work orders and inventory.
• Use hand/power tools and shop equipment effectively.
• Coordinate with managers, operators, contractors, vendors for timely service.
• Move and operate equipment including forklifts and high lifts.
• Select and requisition parts following procedures.
• Inspect parts for failure modes and suggest countermeasures.
• Maintain safety and report non-conformances.
