Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Part-time Child Care Aide to support teaching staff in our Richmond classrooms. You will help implement activity plans and provide a safe, secure environment for children aged six weeks to fourteen years, promoting self-esteem and growth.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 24 hours of early childhood coursework preferred. Responsibilities include documentation for parents, infection-control readiness, and weekend/shift

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 24 hours of coursework in early childhood education or related field preferred.
• Experience with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

Responsibilities

• Respond to the needs of children and implement lesson plans for assigned classroom.
• Document children’s daily progress and prepare reports to parents as directed.
• Ensure the classroom is clean, neat and free of health hazards or infection control risks.
• Supervise volunteers when in their assigned classroom and assist teaching staff.
