  • Identifies system improvements, solutions and new methods.
  • Documents service and installation activities with work orders.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Managers and TAR Coordinator to plan scope and parts.
  • Manages suppliers to meet company best practices and policies.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Large Rotating Equipment Specialist is responsible for installing, trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining our centrifugal, reciprocating, piston, diaphragm, and screw compressors along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic trouble shooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you need to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides technical assistance on equipment for pre-commissioning, start-ups, installations and repairs of compressed gas systems including "hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to the plants requirement.
  • Provides assistance and training to Plant Technician and serve as technical support for Plants, Regional, and Zone Managers.
  • Conduct safety assessments of a continuously changing working environment and facilitate Pre - Job Safety meetings to communicate risks, address support requests and make key decisions.
  • Identify solutions, system improvements, and improved methods and techniques.
  • Document service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Managers, Field Operations Managers, and TAR Coordinator to define and plan scope, order and gather parts / supplies, and complete installations or repairs.
  • Manage suppliers to meet Matheson best practices, procedures, and policies.

Work Environmental & Physical Demands:

The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

This is a full-time position with a flexible work schedule and up to 75% travel. Typical hours will vary to meet the supply chain needs for this 24/7 production operation. Additional work hours may include occasional overtime, nights, weekends and/or holidays, and will include On-Call coverage as required to meet Matheson Bulk needs.

Willingness to travel as required. Daily travel to Plant sites is expected.

Role will be performed in office environments as well as in industrial field environments.May also be required to work from a home location, which must be conducive to performing the role and duties, including virtual/video meetings.

This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing duties of this job it would occasionally be required to:

  • Be exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (e.g. operating plant).
  • Be exposed to outside weather conditions (e.g. cold box valves, filling trailers).
  • Be exposed to high, precarious places (e.g. cold box, repair work)
  • Be exposed to high noise levels (e.g. Plant rounds, maintenance)
  • Be exposed to high voltage risks (e.g. motors, MCCs, power cables and equipment)

Must pass background check and drug test.

Must sign NDA.

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Desired applicants will have 5-8 years' experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
  • Additional preferred requirements include an applicable technical degree, or 5 years' production management experience, or 10 years' operation, maintenance, or instrumentation experience in ASU production or similar industrial manufacturing field.
  • Industry related vocational certifications considered.

Compensation: $48 - $58 per hour
