Job summary

Hydro, Inc. in Chicago, IL West Loop is seeking an engineer to drive production and WIP management.

You will partner daily with the shop manager and superintendent to hit monthly quotas, coordinate with outside contractors, and move work efficiently between shop floors and sites. The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree with 4–5 years’ experience, strong Microsoft Office skills, and proven ability to lead multiple projects under tight timelines.

Qualifications

Engineering degree with 4-5 years of experience.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Collaborative communicator with strong organization and people skills.
Comfortable leading multiple projects under tight timelines and pressure.
Robust engineering acumen.

Responsibilities

Hit monthly production quotas and margin goals by partnering daily with the manager and shop superintendent.
Keep work moving between our shop and outside contractors-visit sites, validate status, and accept finished product.
Report WIP progress to account managers; keep stakeholders informed and confident.
Own the WIP log to enable accurate monthly and quarterly billing forecasts.
Coordinate with the EPR group to ensure travelers are created and the Avante system is fully utilized.
Strengthen operational safety: maintain strong health and safety records; assist the shop superintendent with the safety committee and documentation controls.
Conduct pre-quote inspections at competitors' facilities; craft detailed proposals and scopes compatible with the Hydro Aire Avante system.
Partner with EPR test engineers to learn test stand practices; grow into the test floor engineer role, delivering data for EPR hydraulic engineer sign-offs and verification test curves.
