Hydro, Inc. in Chicago's West Loop is seeking a capable engineer to manage WIP, drive production quotas, and coordinate with shop leadership to ensure timely delivery of finished products.

The role emphasizes safety, proactive quoting, and collaboration with EPR test engineers to support sign-offs and data delivery. Candidates should have an engineering degree with 4–5 years experience and strong MS Office skills; in-person work in Chicago.

Responsibilities

• Hit monthly production quotas and margin goals by partnering daily with the manager and shop superintendent.
• Own the WIP log to enable accurate monthly and quarterly billing forecasts.
• Coordinate with the EPR group to ensure travelers are created and the Avante system is fully utilized.
• Strengthen operational safety: maintain strong health and safety records; assist the shop superintendent with the safety committee and documentation controls.
• Conduct pre-quote inspections at competitors’ facilities; craft detailed proposals and scopes compatible with the Hydro Aire Avante system.
• Partner with EPR test engineers to learn test stand practices; grow into the test floor engineer role, delivering data for EPR hydraulic engineer sign-offs and verification test curves.
