Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an experienced engineer for on-site work in Houston, TX to develop detailed mechanical designs of rotating equipment packages and associated drawings. The role requires strong baseplate design, BOM creation, and 3D model management to ensure safe, clash-free assembly.

You will collaborate with PLE and clients, conduct design reviews, and support bid management with deviations when needed. 5–8 years in detail design and an Associate degree are required.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience with a focus on detail design.
• Associate degree required.
• Knowledge of control systems design.
• Experience with Teamcenter, COMOS, and JIRA.
• SAP or other MRP system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs for rotating equipment packages.
• Design structural baseplates, release drawings, and BOMs for fabrication and machining.
• Conduct static and dynamic loading calculations at foundation interface.
• Create general arrangement drawings for rotating equipment trains.
• Create piping models, spool drawings, and piping supports.
• Design coupling guards and related fabrication drawings.
• Manage 3D models of rotating equipment trains to ensure clash-free assembly.
• Assemble utility consumption and customer connection lists.
• Specify lifting tools and arrange lifting setups.
• Write purchase specifications for baseplates and anti-vibration mounts.
• Lead 3D model reviews and participate in design reviews.
• Support Project Lead Engineer and clients.
• Assist bid management and front end engineering with deviations and impacts.
