Job summary

LiquidPiston is seeking an Engine Build Technician to join our growing technical team. The role focuses on assembly, inspection, and maintenance of rotary engines, requiring strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.

Ideal candidates will work closely with engineers to support design iterations and testing, ensuring quality workmanship and safe shop practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven mechanical aptitude from automotive, aerospace, machining or similar hands-on fields.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly docs.
• Excellent problem-solving and independent work capability.
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
• Familiarity with hand tools, torque wrenches, gauges, and shop equipment.
• Experience with rotary or internal combustion engines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly and disassembly of prototype and production rotary engines.
• Inspect and measure machined components using calipers, micrometers, and precision tools.
• Identify and resolve mechanical issues during engine build processes.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, components, and consumables.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment in shop and lab areas.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and shop infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support design iterations and testing.
• Document build procedures, discrepancies, and improvements for process optimization.
