Camp Lindenmere, a leading sleepaway camp located in the Poconos, is seeking a Ropes Course Facilitator. This individual will oversee Ropes and Ninja Warrior Programs, ensuring camper safety, team management, and program success. Ideal candidates have experience in climbing, ropes courses, and work well with youth in a camp environment.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
• Certification in belaying, facilitation, and ropes course safety preferred.
• Teachers and/or coaches preferred; energetic and fun to be around.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Ropes and Ninja Warrior Programs at Camp Lindenmere.
• Manage a team of approximately 10 coaches and counselors.
• Ensure safety and care of campers during activities.

Located on 200 acres in Pennsylvania’s beautiful Pocono Mountains, Camp Lindenmere is a private, coed sleepaway camp founded in 1935, for campers ranging in age from 7-17. Our multi-element, High Ropes Course offers challenges for every skill level. Beginners are able to focus on a single element, while more advanced climbers can take advantage of the circuit design where all our elements are linked together to form a true course, including a 400-foot Zipline. The combination of these elements gives Lindenmere one of the best Ropes Programs in camping.Our 25-foot and 50-foot, multi-faced climbing walls have multiple skill levels built-in, and includes a cargo net, overhangs, repelling station, varying rated climbing routes, and is connected to the rest of the course. It can be used as a starting point for the multi-element high ropes course or just for those campers that want to work on their climbing skills.Low elements include: Low & High “Up and Over” Walls; Nitro Swing; Grapevine Traverse; 3-Line Traverse; Train Tracks; Swinging Log; Spider Web, etc. We also have a brand new Ninja Warrior Course with 3 Warped Walls.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience in all aspects of Ropes Courses, Climbing and Ninja Warrior Courses
• Certification in belaying, facilitation, and ropes course safety. The applicant ideally has or is working towards an ACCT- level 2 training.
• Teachers and/or coaches are preferred.
• Knowledge of program design.
• Experience working with kids.
• Experience which relates to the Roles & Responsibilities, preferably in a camp setting.
• Willingness to work cooperatively and independently.
• Strong planning skills; well-organized, yet flexible.
• Confident, energetic, approachable, and fun to be around.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Ropes Course Facilitator (Head of Ropes) will oversee the Ropes Course an Ninja Warrior Programs at Camp Lindenmere. The Ropes Course Facilitator will oversee a team of coaches and instructors.

• Responsible for overall management of the Lindenmere Ropes and Ninja Warrior Programs.
• Plan, direct and supervise successful Ropes and Ninja Warrior Programs.
• Supervise approximately 10 coaches and counselors; implement the schedule and time-off for staff.
• Responsible for the safety, care and instruction of the campers.
• Inspect and manage the facilities of the Ropes and Ninja Warrior Courses.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Motivated to take initiative and have a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to work in a camp environment.
• Implement all safety measures and enforce all rules and regulations in accordance with ACA, ACCT, The Adventure Network, and Camp Lindenmere standards.
• Highly safety conscious.
