Job Summary Details:

The Garage Custodian is responsible for ensuring garages and surface lots are maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. Interface with customers, handle disputes, and provide effective communication between departments, co-workers, customers, and clients.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• 1 year of similar work experience
• Experience with general facility maintenance
• Cleaning experience, including outdoor housekeeping
• Parking industry experience is preferred but not required
• May need a valid driver’s license and ability to operate maintenance vehicles

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain buildings and facilities
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage
• Notify management of repair needs
• Establish effective communication with clients and co-workers
• Comply with safety, security, and quality standards
• Clean furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, and equipment
• Move furniture and equipment as needed
• Clean interior glass, windows, and mirrors
• Wash and replace blinds
• Empty trash and perform seasonal outdoor tasks
• Clean food service areas and restrooms
• Maintain garages and surface lots daily
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as sweeping, trash removal, and light bulb replacement
• Assist with snow removal and winter upkeep
• Operate cleaning equipment like sweepers and scrubbers
• Complete daily maintenance checklists
• Greet customers and provide vehicle assistance
• Assist customers via intercom, lobby, and parking office
• Promote excellent customer service with a friendly attitude
• Assist with cashiering as needed
