Job summary

Turner Specialty Services, LLC seeks experienced Rope Access Welders in the Baton Rouge, LA area for long-term assignments. The Technician performs maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment using rope access, with emphasis on safety and clear communication within the team.

Requirements include IRATA/SPRAT certification, TWIC card, ASME welding qualifications, and the ability to lift 75 pounds. Physical fitness and the ability to work at height are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• IRATA / SPRAT Level I, II, or III certification.
• Current TWIC Card Required.
• Must be certified per ASME requirements.
• Must hold current welder certifications.
• Able to weld various types of metals and configurations using SMAW and GTAW processes.
• Must have a capacity for work at height.
• Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
• CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Uses Industrial Rope Access methods to access and complete maintenance, repairs and other tasks on ropes.
• Maintains a safe environment by adhering to IRATA/SPRAT standards.
• Ensures proper use of personal protective equipment by all team members.
• Follows OSHA and site safety procedures and participates in required training.
• Inspects rope access systems and components before use.
• Notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions and assists in rescues as needed.
• Performs physically demanding activities including climbing, lifting, and walking.

Turner Specialty Services, LLC is seeking experienced Rope Access Welders with SPRAT and or IRATA certification in the Baton Rouge, LA area for long term assignments. The Rope Access Technician is responsible for carrying out standard rope access operations to perform maintenance, repairs, and other industrial work tasks on industrial petrol/chemical equipment while on ropes. The Technician must have the ability to perform work that is physically demanding, have good communication skills and the ability to assimilate a large amount of new information. Responsibilities may also include rescue operations, technical reports, and administrative tasks.

Essential Qualifications

Functional Requirements

• Uses Industrial Rope Access methods and related equipment to access and complete a wide variety of maintenance, repairs and other industrial work tasks while on ropes or in difficult access areas
• Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to the IRAT/SPRAT standards and practices
• Ensures team members utilize proper personal protective equipment
• Displays a healthy respect for heights and follows all OSHA, site specific and company's safety procedures
• Participates in required training and maintains a working understanding of rope access safe working practices
• Inspects and verifies rope access systems and components before use
• Recognizes worksite hazards and notifies the Rope Access Supervisor of any unsafe conditions
• Maintains proficiency at rescue techniques and assist in rescues as directed and in accordance with certification level
• Performs physical activities that require considerably use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, and walking

Physical Involvement
