Position Summary

MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking certified Rope Access RT Technicians local to the Greater Houston area for full-time, nested positions to start as soon as possible. Competitive rates and comprehensive benefits. The RT Technician performs NDT operations and evaluates results as certified by Mistras Services written practices to routine NDT methods, inspecting piping, tanks and vessels using radiography. Level 2 Certification in CR preferred. Rope Access certification required.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Train RT assistant, run the film, and grade the film per specific procedures directed by the customer.
• Set up and calibrate equipment and interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods for which qualified and exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and NDT Level I personnel.
• Organize and report the results of NDT tests.
• Generate NDT data, organize data, and report findings. Evaluate data for disposition.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or college credits preferred.
• Current ASNT NDE Level II certificate in the responsible NDT method; adequate knowledge in that method (RT).
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
• Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
• Ability to follow and communicate precise directions and procedures of the customer on the project.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to generate technical data orally, in writing, and electronically as required.

Essential Physical Functions

• Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
