Job summary

Turner Specialty Services, LLC seeks an experienced Rope Access Planner in the Whiting, IN area for long term assignments. The Planner prepares complete estimates for assigned projects and determines project plans and specifications.

Non-exempt role; Reports to Planning Supervisor or Foreman; IRATA/SPRAT certification, NCCER, TWIC card, and CPR are required; must be able to lift 75 pounds and pass background/drug tests.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • IRATA / SPRAT Level I, II, or III certification.
  • Current TWIC Card Required.
  • Must be NCCER Certified.
  • Must have a capacity for work at height.
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
  • CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports into unit and man-hour figures; estimates worker-hours and materials required.
  • Reviews specifications, drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Prepares estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work; maintains files of working documents and back-up for estimate figures.
  • Follows contracts as assigned; may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

The Planner position prepares complete estimates for assigned project(s) and determines project plans and specifications. Non-exempt role; Reports to Planning Supervisor or Foreman; Performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • IRATA / SPRAT Level I, II, or III certification
  • Current TWIC Card Required
  • Must be NCCER Certified
  • Must have a capacity for work at height
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug test

  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the workplace

Functional Requirements

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement

May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; typing /data entry; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment.
