Rope Access Painters (RA P) – LEVELS 1 & 2 - Permanent position
Position Overview
The RA P is responsible for performing duties and responsibilities in a safe and timely manner as assigned by the Level 3 RA Safety Supervisor. The RA P utilizes a variety of additional equipment to perform surface prep, coating application, repair, and modifications at height from ropes. The RA P may be required to participate in ground works when not employed on RA projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work under the direct supervision of a Level 3 IRATA / SPRAT RA Safety Supervisor. Work safely and comply with Brock RA SOP / IRATA ICOP / SPRAT Safe work practices. Perform specific job functions as they relate to work orders. Assist other technicians as required. Ensure operational safety of all equipment.
Education & Skill Requirements
· Experience working onshore / offshore in the O&G Sector preferred.
· High School Diploma or GED preferred.
· In Date IRATA / SPRAT - RA identification card(s) and / or certification form(s).
· Complete & up to date IRATA / SPRAT RA logbook(s).
· Proficiency in theoretical knowledge, equipment and rigging, maneuvers, climbing, and rescue / hauling applicable to rope qualification level.
· Experience safely operating trade-specific power and layout tools/equipment.
· Surface Preparation: Cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming surfaces.
· Paint Application: Proficiency with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
· Knowledge of Coatings: Understanding of primers, sealers, and various paint types (latex, oil-based, epoxy, etc.).
· Caulking and Sealing: Ensuring clean, sealed edges and joints.
· Scaffolding and Ladder Use: Safe and effective use of access equipment.
· Knowledge of Safety Procedures: Use of PPE, ventilation, and hazard awareness.
· Compliance with OSHA Standards: Adhering to workplace safety regulations.
· Attention to Detail: Precision in cutting-in, edging, and finishing.
· Time Management: Meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects.
· Communication: Understanding client needs and collaborating with team members.
· Problem-Solving: Addressing surface issues or unexpected challenges on-site.
Additional Requirements:
· Legal ability to work in US & outlying territories.
· Valid Driver's license / identification card.
· Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Physical Demands & Work Conditions

Balancing -Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent

surfaces.
Stooping – Bending body downward and forward by
bending spine at the waist.
Kneeling - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on
knee or knees.
Crouching – Bending the body downward and forward by
bending leg and spine.
Reaching -Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any
directions.
Standing -upwards of 50% of workday.
Walking - Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.
Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against
something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
Pulling -Using upper extremities to exert force to
draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting – Raising- objects more than fifty pounds
from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position
Fingering – Picking or pinching or otherwise working
with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Gripping – Applying pressure to an object with the
fingers and palm.
Feeling – Perceiving attributes of objects, such as
size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that
of fingertips.
Talking – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of
the spoken word accurately, loudly, and quickly.
Hearing – Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal
speaking levels with or without correction and to make discriminations in
sounds.
Repetitive Motion - Substantial movements of the
wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Able to perform very heavy work (exerting more than one
hundred pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than fifty pounds of force
frequently, and/or more than twenty pounds of force constantly to move objects)
Ability to perform visual inspection involving small
defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection);
using measuring devices; and/or assembly of fabrication parts at distances
close to the eyes.
Ability to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy
equipment.
Ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and
thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities
or structures.
Able to perform in both inside and outside
environmental conditions.
Able to perform in extreme cold (Temperatures below
32 degrees for periods of more than one hour).
Able to perform in extreme heat (Temperatures above one
hundred degrees for periods of more than one hour).
Ability to withstand loud noise.
Able to perform in and near hazards to include
proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current,
working on scaffolding and high places more than one hundred feet, exposure to
high heat, extreme cold, or exposure to chemicals.
Able to perform in conditions that affect the
respiratory system or the skin such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gasses, or
