Job summary

XCEL NDT, LLC is seeking a Rope Access Technician – NDE to perform nondestructive examinations in difficult-to-reach areas using two-rope rope access systems. You will work under a Level III Rope Access Supervisor to conduct NDE per procedures and record results.

Responsibilities include rigging support, equipment inspection, and meticulous documentation of findings. Candidates must hold SPRAT/IRATA Level I/II and an NDT certification, with strong safety and teamwork mindset for work at height.

Qualifications

• Current SPRAT or IRATA Level I or II rope access certification with logged hours.
• Current NDT certification (Level I or II) in one or more methods, with OJT hours documented.
• Working knowledge of rope access equipment, rigging, and fall protection practices.
• Demonstrated ability to perform assigned NDT tasks and record inspection results.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Access work areas using two-rope industrial rope access systems per SPRAT/IRATA standards and approved work plan.
• Assist with rigging, anchor setup, and system inspection under Rope Access Supervisor.
• Inspect, maintain, and document condition of rope access equipment before/after use.
• Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment at height.
• Conduct nondestructive examinations of vessels, piping, tanks, and structures and record results.
• Apply testing criteria per procedures, codes and standards; report results.
• Participate in safety analyses, pre-job briefings, and rescue plans; assist in rope rescue if needed.
• Maintain rope access logbook hours and certification records.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
