Job summary

Kimpton Sylvan Hotel offers a Rooms Manager-in-Training program—a 12-month fast track for recent hospitality graduates. The MIT will rotate through Front Office and Housekeeping, attend leadership meetings, and master the PMS and related systems.

The role emphasizes guest satisfaction, cost awareness, and adherence to SOPs. Candidates should have a hospitality background, be willing to relocate post-MIT, and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

• Recent or current graduate of a hospitality program preferred.
• Flexibility to relocate for placement after completion of the MIT program.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences, such as supervisors, coworkers, public, etc.

Responsibilities

• Shadow both Front Office and Housekeeping departments.
• Complete shifts in each Front Office and Housekeeping position.
• Attend department and leadership meetings.
• Become proficient with PMS and other systems used by Front Office and Housekeeping.
• Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs.
• Interact positively with customers and resolve problems to maintain satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with Room SOPs and policies.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
