Job summary

Margaritaville Hotel Nashville is seeking a Maintenance / Rooms Engineer to maintain guest rooms, public spaces, and pool areas with light electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work. The role requires attention to safety, guest satisfaction, and proactive maintenance to preserve the island-inspired atmosphere in downtown Nashville.

The engineer will perform PM schedules, troubleshoot equipment, and assist with F&B and laundry systems, reports to the Chief Engineer/Engineering Manager, and supports life

Qualifications

• Fluent English with strong interpersonal skills for guest and team interactions.
• 2–5 years of maintenance experience in hospitality, commercial, or institutional settings.
• Basic to intermediate HVAC, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with light carpentry, painting, vinyl/wall-covering repair, and drywall patching.
• CPO certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as occupancy requires.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and health standards.

Responsibilities

• Guest room maintenance and PM in rooms and suites, troubleshooting TVs, Wi-Fi, HVAC, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and furnishings.
• Maintain and repair finishes, lighting, wall coverings, flooring, and fixtures in public areas and event spaces (Fins Rooftop Pool & Bar).
• Assist with maintenance for kitchen, bar, and laundry equipment; perform routine cleaning and maintenance of drains.
• Monitor fire alarms, life safety systems, energy management, and building automation; respond to alerts.
• Pool systems maintenance and water quality checks; CPO preferred for pool deck.
• Use the work-order platform to track and complete requests efficiently.
• Keep tool kits and supply carts organized; report low inventory to leadership.
• Support minor lock/key issues, signage installation, water heater changes, electrical cart maintenance and general building repairs.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and safety trainings.
