Job summary

The Saint Paul Hotel is seeking a friendly, energetic server for room service to greet guests, take and deliver orders, and manage payments. The role requires knowledge of our menu, accuracy with the POS system, and adherence to alcohol service rules.

You will maintain clean, organized room service areas, restock supplies, and assist with entry-level kitchen tasks as needed. Nights and weekends are required.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of related experience in a high-volume food & beverage setting.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, take orders, and serve food and beverages.
  • Enter orders into the Point-of-Sale system and collect payments.
  • Monitor alcohol service and request identification when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of FOH room service areas and service equipment.
  • Stock and replenish supplies; remove trash and perform cleaning duties.

Job description

This position has primary responsibilities including greeting guests; making suggestions regarding food and beverages; taking and delivering orders; answering questions or concerns; monitoring guest alcohol consumption; setting, breaking down, and cleaning of all FOH room service areas; cleanliness of work areas; maintaining accurate guest cover counts; and collecting payment for all food and beverages served.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGreets guests; takes orders; serves food and beverages; collect payments.Thoroughly knowledgeable on the menu, daily specials, and beverages.Enters orders into Point-of-Sale System, maintains accurate guests cover counts, totals receipts correctly, verifies sales, and collects payment for all food and beverages served.Requests proper identification from guests purchasing alcoholic beverages when legal age is questionable (under the age of 30).Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the room service kitchen and service area. Stocks/replenishes an adequate supply of product and equipment. Removes trash, sweeps, and mops floors. Performs all duties on position checklist including all cleaning duties.Complies with company, local, state, and national regulations pertaining to food quality, cleanliness and sanitation standards, alcohol service, and safety.Completes any and all other duties as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS1-year related experience in a high-volume, high energy, food and beverage environment.Availability to work nights and weekends.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.The employee frequently is required to operate and use server station tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.The employee must move up to 30 pounds frequently.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSAlcohol service certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.We are inspired by connections.
