JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a friendly, professional Room Service Attendant to join our hotel’s Food and Beverage team. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for serving guests their room service orders with delivery and pickup to their rooms and public areas of the hotel. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
- Operational Responsibilities
- Contribute positively to the team within the department
- Prepare for any/all guest requests
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards as required by scheduling which will vary dependent upon the hotel’s needs
- Display working knowledge of all menu items and prices
- Complete side work as assigned
- Respond to the needs and requests of guests immediately
- Answering phones and taking orders or receiving orders from hotel operator
- Set up trays with proper condiments and utensils
- Deliver orders and amenities to guest rooms
- Pick up trays from guest rooms
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Be extremely courteous to all customers and fellow employees
- Communicates effectively with others
- Works productively with a team
- Contributes to team results.

- Maintain knowledge of hotel services and amenities to assist guests with inquiries.
- Provide personalized service by engaging with guests, learning their preferences, and making recommendations.
- Greet guests promptly, ensure timely delivery of food and beverages, and practice core service standards on every interaction.
- Always maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor to enhance the guest experience.
- Ensure your area is always clean and organized.
- Team Support and Training
- Ability to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilities
- Attend in monthly Food and Beverage Meetings.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on menu items, service standards, and company policies.
- Communication and Reporting
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately to management.
- Safety & Compliance
- Comply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately
- Maintain hotel equipment in proper working conditions
- Wear required non-slip footwear to prevent slips and falls.
- Comply with local and state laws regarding alcohol service, including verifying guest identification when necessary.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High school or equivalent education required.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines
- Handling difficult customers or complaints with professionalism.
- Multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills
- Certification of completion in TABC and Food Handler
Education and Experience

- High school or equivalent education required.
