Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Room Service Associate on the full-time, first shift to serve meals to patients with professionalism and efficiency. You will coordinate with nursing to ensure diet orders are accurate, accommodate dietary restrictions, and offer menu substitutions as needed for allergies, cultures, and preferences.

Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma/GED and 1–3 months of experience; a Food Handler card or ServSafe certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Serve meals to patients in a professional and efficient manner.
• Complies with dietary restrictions on special diets per diet orders.
• Demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic diets and associated foods and condiments.

Responsibilities

• Gives patients the opportunity to order meals, including isolation patients.
• Interacts with nursing to ensure diet prescriptions are accurate and needs are met.
• Offers menu substitutions per diet and dietary restrictions, allergies and cultural preferences.

Responsible for serving meals to patients in a professional and efficient manner.

Job Duties:

• Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within guidelines of diet order limitations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of all therapeutic diets and the proper foods and condiments served with the particular diets.
• Gives all patients an opportunity to order their meals including calling isolation patients for their selections.
• Interacts with nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients’ food needs are met.
• Offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies and sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences.

Preferred Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• One to three months’ experience
• Food Handler card or Servsafe certificate preferred
