Chautauqua Institution owns and operates the Chautauqua Hotel Company, a historic full-service hotel with 150 rooms. The Athenaeum Hotel houses the Heirloom Restaurant and the Lobby Lounge. The hotel operates from late April through October for conferences and events, with full operation during the summer season from late June through late August.

Compensation

Compensation for this position starts at $16.00/hour, with potential earnings up to $18.00/hour + tips based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned hotel rooms while ensuring cleanliness and safety standards.
• Complete daily room assignments efficiently within allotted time without compromising quality.
• Stock cleaning supplies and transport them to assigned areas.
• Execute cleaning procedures for hotel rooms during guest stays and checkouts.
• Maintain cleanliness by picking up trash, vacuuming, and emptying wastebaskets.
• Scrub and disinfect bathrooms and polish wooden fixtures.
• Replace bed linens and replenish supplies/toiletries as needed.
• Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to supervisors.
• Follow procedures for lost guest items.
• Adhere to safety standards when using chemical cleaners.
• Interact positively with guests and respond to their needs.
• Maintain communication with team members and management.
• Participate in team meetings and training programs.
• Report work-related injuries immediately.

Schedule

Flexible schedules, full and part-time, for seasonal employment during summer operations. Typical shifts are eight hours, ranging from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m., totaling 30-40 hours per week. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
