Room Attendant (On-Call) - Tarrytown House Estate Hotel

Position Overview

The schedule is on-call based on business levels. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness, organization, and supply of all guest rooms in an assigned section.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times.
  2. Ensure guest satisfaction through room cleanliness and attention to guest needs.
  3. Clean a specified number of rooms per day following Housekeeping Guidelines within an eight-hour workday, maintaining standards.
  4. After demonstrating ability to increase workload, clean additional rooms for extra compensation.
  5. Check fixtures, television, radio, and heating/cooling equipment for proper operation and report maintenance needs.
  6. Set heating/cooling and radio to proper settings.
  7. Inspect rooms for maintenance needs and report accordingly.
  8. Perform daily cleaning duties, including changing bedspreads, blankets, mattress pads, and shower curtains as assigned.
  9. Log rooms cleaned on the daily housekeeping report, fold terry and linen while waiting for rooms.
  10. Clean, organize, and restock the cart at the end of each shift.
  11. Deliver supply baskets to laundry for restocking.
  12. Maintain cleanliness of the cart, linen room, and vacuum cleaner.
  13. Return keys and room status reports to the Guest Room Supervisor or front desk.
  14. Operate laundry equipment and maintain public area cleanliness.
  15. Wear proper uniform at all times as per Standards of Appearance.
  16. Know emergency procedures thoroughly.
  17. Practice safety standards at all times.
  18. Ability to move luggage, packages, or furniture weighing up to 40 lbs.
  19. Follow rules outlined in the M&R Employee Handbook.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by management, capable of performing.
