Job Summary: As a Room Attendant, this position is responsible for maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests. This includes cleaning and servicing guest rooms to the highest cleanliness and presentation standards. Attention to detail and a commitment to providing an unmatched level of guest service are essential in ensuring a positive and memorable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Room Cleaning & Preparation

  • Clean and sanitize guest rooms following hotel standards, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and surface cleaning
  • Make beds with fresh linens and ensure all items are neatly arranged in the room
  • Replenish guest amenities such as towels, toiletries, and linens

Attention to Detail

  • Ensure all areas of the room, especially bathrooms and high-touch surfaces, are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized
  • Remove any stains, spills, or marks using appropriate cleaning agents
  • Assist with cleaning other hotel areas and support fellow housekeeping staff as needed

Guest Interaction & Service

  • Greet guests warmly and respond promptly and professionally to their requests or concerns, and escalate to management when necessary
  • Provide additional amenities or service upon request
  • Maintain a professional, friendly, and courteous demeanor at all times

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety, security, and sanitation protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and usage of PPE, etc.
  • Participate in safety training and emergency drills
  • Comply with OSHA, SDS, and hotel safety standards

Company Policies & Professionalism:

  • Follow all hotel, company, and department policies, including service standards, safety & security regulations, time & attendance, meal & rest breaks, polished grooming & appearance standards, and code of conduct
  • Uphold MacArthur Place’s luxury service and hospitality brand standards by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, respect, and teamwork when engaging with guests
  • Work effectively with housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers to address needs or updates
  • Support and assist team members during busy periods or special assignments
  • Maintain professionalism, respect, support, and genuine care at all times

Qualifications:

  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, safety and security
  • Proficient listening, speaking, and customer service skills
  • Professional appearance and grooming, reliable attendance, and a welcoming demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand, walk or move for extended periods of time and perform repetitive motion tasks (clean, bend, scrub, vacuum, wipe, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 lbs.)
  • Work with cleaning chemicals and safety gears
  • Work swiftly and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
  • Perform duties in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to sunlight, varying weather conditions, and temperature fluctuations
  • Use of cleaning equipment and products and wear appropriate safety gears
  • Energetic, guest-focused atmosphere with continuous movement and interaction

This position requires a strong work ethic, a service-oriented mindset, and dedication to maintaining high standards in hospitality, cleanliness, and sanitation. Your role is also to ensure guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and valued through thoughtful service, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.
