Job summary

BENCHMARK in Chicago is looking for a dedicated Housekeeping team member to engage with guests and ensure high cleanliness standards. The role requires housekeeping experience and effective communication skills, with responsibilities including maintaining cleanliness of guest areas and assisting guests during their stay.

The ideal candidate should be able to lift and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs and function in tight spaces. A friendly personality and strong time management skills are key to this position.

Property Description

We are located in scenic Central Oregon in a re-imagined 221-room hotel in Bend, Oregon. The property offers modern sophistication and world-class amenities in a beautiful natural setting.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
• Work as a team to achieve the resort/hotel cleanliness goals.
• Keep the work cart orderly and properly stocked.
• Properly utilize equipment, supplies and guest amenities.
• Perform thorough cleanliness and sanitation of assigned guest areas, including daily changing and inspection of linens and towels.
• Follow the Green Program and safety standards and report hazards.
• Respect guests’ property and exercise responsible care of equipment.
• Maintain accurate work records and report to schedule.
• Remain alert, courteous and helpful to guests and co-workers.
• Perform other related duties as requested by the Floor Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience is desirable.
• Neat, pleasant personality and strong time management skills.
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills and ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions.
• Capacity to move, travel, and position oneself to reach corners on floors and high places.
• Ability to navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces and operate equipment such as spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters.
• Lift, carry and position loads of at least 25 lbs.

Compensation

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
