Scope of Position

The Room Attendant provides housekeeping services to all guest rooms according to the policies and procedures established by JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa. He/she will provide exceptional quality housekeeping services to enhance the overall guest experience.

Position Requirements

• Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Able to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision.
• Able to focus attention on guest needs.
• Adhere to safety, rules and company policies.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling, cleaning techniques and use of equipment/ machinery.

Responsibilities

• Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning chemicals.
• Strip and make beds, change bed linens which may require lifting bedspreads weighing up to 50 lbs., with up to 15 rooms cleaned per shift.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to all guest requests.
• Keep linen closet and service landings secure.
• Dust furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
• Vacuum throughout entire room and empty trash.
• Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest room.
• Practice chemical safety rules and follow procedures for needles and other hazardous materials.
• Communicate effectively with other employees, as well as guests.
• Take accurate room status reports at the end of the shift.
• Understand labels, instructions, and guest requests.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Education

• High school diploma; experience in a large hotel environment preferred.

• Ability to communicate in English (second language is a plus).
• Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy in duties.
• Flexibility to work holidays and weekends.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical fitness to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
• Standing, walking, reaching, and bending throughout the shift (up to 8 hours).
