Job summary

SRS Building Products—Glendale, AZ is hiring for a rooftop material handler. The role involves loading and unloading roofing materials from trucks, placing items on rooftops, and coordinating with drivers to ensure efficient, safe delivery and setup on residential and commercial properties.

Candidates should be physically fit, able to lift up to 100 lbs, and comfortable working heights outdoors. OSHA guidelines and PPE are required; training on conveyors may be provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors on rooftops at varied heights.
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload roofing materials from delivery trucks.
• Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
• Distribute materials onto roofs per safety rules.
• Operate conveyor belts where trained (if applicable).
• Verify and reconcile material orders.
• Provide service to roofing contractors.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate loading/unloading with drivers and team.

Job description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for loading, unloading, transporting and positioning materials to and from various sites on the rooftop of residential homes and commercial buildings while upholding the company’s standards for outstanding customer service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload roofing materials from delivery trucks using manual and mechanical methods.
• Ensuring that all safety guidelines and procedures are followed.
• Facilitate the safe and effective distribution of materials onto flat and sloped roofs as per company safety guidelines.
• Operate conveyor belt systems (where trained and certified) to transport building materials from flatbed trucks to rooftops.
• Accurately verify and reconcile material orders.
• Provide exceptional service to roofing contractors.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA safety regulations and company protocols.
• Work closely with drivers and other team members to coordinate efficient loading and unloading processes.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Should be physically fit, capable of lifting heavy items up to 100 lbs. and operating machinery.
• Must have good balance and be comfortable working significant heights on varied roof surfaces.
• Work is primarily outdoors and on rooftops, with exposure to various weather conditions.
• Safety equipment such as hard hats, safety harnesses, and gloves is required.
• Exposure to loud machinery noise is inherent to the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Reliable transportation for commuting.
• Authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship.
• Ability to pass criminal and driving background checks, along with a pre-employment drug test.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication in English. Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
• Safety awareness with knowledge of OSHA guidelines.
• Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Availability to work Monday through Friday with the potential for overtime based on delivery schedules and peak seasons.
• Forklift certification preferred.
