Job summary

Centrica Business Solutions US is seeking a Lead Rooftop Installer to oversee solar installation projects, coordinate site activities, and ensure safety and quality on each job.

The role requires strong blueprint reading, tool proficiency, fall protection training, and OSHA 10 certification, with travel to various sites and a dynamic schedule.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience as a Commercial Solar Crew Lead
  • At least 5 years experience in the Commercial Solar Industry
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills both written and verbal
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools
  • Fall protection training and use of fall arrest harnesses and equipment
  • OSHA 10 certification included
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/design drawings
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Active driver’s license with clean record

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and coordinate daily activities for solar installation projects
  • Map out component placements and ensure weather-tight sealing per diagrams
  • Verify insurance certificates and worker’s comp statutes prior to work
  • Assess plan specs, start/completion dates and staffing needs
  • Test and measure post-installation and adjust for function
  • Enforce safety regulations with team and contractors
  • Assist Project Managers with site inspections, permitting and per-site budgets
  • Build the system as designed on construction drawings
  • Label, install and terminate electrical wiring/connections
  • Maintain open communication and safety across all personnel
  • Keep organized job sites and up-to-date certifications
  • Complete daily project reporting

Job description

The Lead Rooftop Installer will be responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of daily activities pertaining to solar installation and maintenance of an assigned project in accordance with company guidelines.

Our Lead Rooftop Installer contributes to the team by:
  • Accurately mapping out the placement of components based on provided diagrams and ensuring the system is effectively sealed against weather conditions, following safety codes and manufacturer specifications.
  • Verifying all insurance certificates and any relevant worker’s compensations statutes are in place prior to the commencement of work
  • Evaluating specifications for plan procedures, start and completion dates, as well as any necessary staffing requirements for each phase of the project.
  • Conducting thorough testing and ground measurement post installation and make any needed adjustments to ensure proper functionality.
  • Interpreting specifications and company policies to subordinates and/or contractors and enforces safety regulations.
  • Analyzing and resolving resolve job site conflicts including, but not limited to, employee complaints and/or grievances.
  • Collaborating and assisting Project Managers with site inspections, permitting, as well as establishing per site budgets.
  • Building the system as designed on the Issued for Construction Drawing set.
  • Accurately labeling, installing, and terminating electrical wiring and/or connections.
  • Maintaining open and effective communication with subordinate supervisory personnel, regarding all activities within each job while ensuring occupational health and safety of all Centrica employees, subcontractors, project teams, clients, guests, and assets in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations, departmental and company policies, as well as industry standards and practices.
  • Maintaining and promoting an organized job site and/or working environment.
  • Maintaining current and valid certifications as required by Centrica and deemed necessary by safety, local, state, and federal laws.
  • Completing required daily reporting for all assigned projects.

The core components needed to be successful in this role are (i.e. must haves):

  • At least 1 year experience as a Commercial Solar Crew Lead
  • At least 5 years’ experience working in the Commercial Solar Industry
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills both written and verbal
  • Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to effectively work in a team environment
  • Proficient in the reading and interpretation of Blueprint or design drawings
  • Fall protection training and use of fall arrest harnesses and equipment
  • OSHA 10
  • Ability to demonstrate exemplary worth ethics
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Active Driver’s License and clean driving record

The US base salary range for this full-time position is$28.00-$40.00/hr + benefits.Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
