Job summary

Baker Roofing Company is seeking a Roofing Laborer to support Roofers and Foremen in York, PA, assisting with preparing job sites and installing diverse roofing systems. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have high school education (GED acceptable) and general construction experience; a driver’s license is preferred but not required. Weekly pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job sites and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Remove debris from roofs and surrounding work areas.
• Assist with installing insulation, vapor barriers, and roofing materials.
• Assist with installing and repairing roofing systems using materials such as metal, shingles, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, and single-ply systems.
• Apply adhesives, sealants, caulking, and roofing cement as needed.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and other job-related equipment.
• Follow company safety procedures and identify potential hazards.
• Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As a Roofing Laborer, you willassistRoofers and Foremen to prepare job sites and install roofing systems includingmetal, shingles, single-ply (TPO, PVC, and EPDM), slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, and related materials.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school/GED preferred, but notrequired
• Experience: General construction experience preferred

What You’ll Do

Physical Demands

• Requires the ability to lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds.
• Requires the ability to stand, walk, and balance forlong periodsof time.
• Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
• Requires seeing details at close range.
• Requires repetitive movement, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environmental conditions, including:

• Exposure to extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
• Working in temperatures above 90°F or below 32°F.
• Exposure to loud, distracting, or uncomfortable noise levels.
• Exposure to contaminants, hazardous materials, and potentially hazardous equipment.
• Working at heights and in other potentially dangerous conditions.
• Exposure to minor injuries such as burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
• Performing work where errors may have significant consequences. Strict adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations isrequired.
